Where

TO STAY

There are plenty of Hotels and Airbnb properties around to fit all budgets.
We personally recommend hotels because of the added amenities, like included breakfast and a concierge
to help with all your needs like travel arrangements (taxis, busses, trains), restaurant recommendations, etc..

Below are just a few hotel options that we have secured a special rate with for our wedding guests.

We highly recommend that you book at one of these location but if these options do not meet your preferences please feel free to explore on your own options.

A few to Keep in Mind When Booking:

The Nobu Barcelona and Moxy Barcelona are a 20 minute car ride to the W Barcelona. We are looking into providing a shuttle service to the wedding venue and back but will confirm at a later date.

~

  • Guests are responsible for securing their hotel room in the provided room blocks. You will need to place a credit card on file with your selected property-some will require payment at time of reservation

~

  • European hotels are typically smaller than a American hotel, Nobu Barcelona and the W Barcelona offer room sizes that are more aligned to an American hotel size but they does cost more than Moxy

~

Often many European hotels only offer double occupancy (2 people) rooms as their biggest, and can be strict around enforcing double occupancy being selected when reserving. Failure to do so may result in a room too small for two people or extra charges when checking in
~

The Moxy Barcelona is a newly opened hotel, Moxy hotels are traditionally on the smaller side but very modern, comfortable, and fun - thhe newly weds love to stay at Moxy hotels when traveling to New York and other large cities
~

Both Nobu Hotel Barcelona & Moxy Barcelona are located around the corner of each other, making it a 3min walk from each other
~

  • When booking Moxy Hotel you will complete a survey form and the information will be privately shared with the Moxy Hotel booking department, they will reach out directly to finalize your reservation

~

  • When booking Nobu Barcelona you will book directly on their site

~

  • When booking The W Barcelona you will book directly on their site and input a code for the discount

What to Expect

Barcelona is a fun & exciting place, with lots to do! Like any other major cities, things can happen. So we want to prepare our guests as much as possible to avoid any negative experiences.

Travel tips are constantly added to the FAQ page, so please review that page regularly.

But an important thing to keep in mind, is just like any other major city, things can happen. So please be smart and aware. Men should place wallets in zipped pockets or front pockets, and ladies should wear cross-body bags in front of them. Keep extremely valuable things at home.

Our favorite Spots

While in Barcelona its always best to pick an area for the day and get "lost" in it. When traveling in Barcelona we tend to build a loose itinerary of places we want to visit, and we pick one "must visit" of the day and determined time that we want to visit. We spend the remainder of the day exploring the area. Here are few places (restaurants included) that you should visit.

Robata (restaurant)
Feroz (restaurant)
Paradiso (cocktail bar)
Banker's Bar (cocktail bar)
Teleferico del Puerto (beach bar)
Playa de la Barceloneta (beach area with restaurants and shopping)
La Bouqueria, St. Josep (famous market - once done here pick an alley and explore)
Las Rambles (famous street to shop - great for souvenirs)
Passeig de Garcia (famous street to shop we suggest grabbing a drink at Hotel Casa Fuster as a starting point, and walk from there)
Avinguda Diagonal (great for shopping - not the same avenida diagonal)
Avenida Diagonal (intersects with Passeig de Garcia, has some shopping and restaurants)
L'Eixample District (a great area for shopping, cafes and close to Casa Mila)
Casa Mila (one of the many famous Gaudi landmarks - buy ticket in advance)
El Corte Ingles (great shopping mall)
Maremagnum (shopping mall by the beach coast line)
Gothic Quarter (cool area to explore with shops, bars, restaurants, and great architecture)
Puerta del Angel (a square next to gothic quarter, Carrer del Rec is a great shopping & eating street near by, along with Carrer de la Princessa, Carrer dels Flassaders, and Carrer de l'Argenteria)
Placa Reil (another square that is very chill, great to go at night to grab a appetizer and drink after exploring)
Basilica de la Sagrada Familia (the most famous Gaudi landmark, the build of this church started in 1883 and is still going - buy ticket in advance)
El Born district (near the church, great cafes and boutiques, Picasso museum, and more artsy things)
Ciutadella Park Barcelona (the Central Park of Barcelona)
Arc de Triomf (famous arch and start of the park above)
Park Guell (one of the many famous Gaudi landmarks - buy ticket in advance)
Montjuic (this place sits high up in Barcelona, and includes a castle. Lots of walking but worth it!)
Santa Maria de Montserrat Abbey (This famous monastery sits in the mountains, and is the home to the Black Madonna. There is a market, hiking, and wineries near by - about 40min outside of Barcelona)

Why

Barcelona, Spain

We met during COVID and were forced to figure out how to do life together without risking our health. This led to lots of staycations and domestic trips.
While on our first trip together in Miami, only after four months of dating, we discovered that we both had a love of travel, and being restricted had only grew our interest.
As you may know, traveling with your mate, especially in the beginning stages, is a true test of will and patience. And can be a key indicator of how well you will work together in the future.
That was certainly the case for us, as Barcelona unlocked a new level in our relationship. We talked about everything, mined out new adventures and grew a deeper appreciation for one another. That experience cemented our bond and put our relationship on the fast track. Soon a plan to take an international trip every year was hatched, and we made good on that, tripping to Ibiza, Cabo, Paris, Dubai and Jamaica in three short years. Between barely making our flights, Brittany's overweight luggage, crammed economy class seats, and small European hotel rooms, we can successfully say we made it out on the other side.
That Barcelona trip remains a core memory that helped launch our whirlwind relationship, which quickly advanced as we moved in together, got engaged, became husband and wife, and welcomed Isley into the world.

TO EXPECT

PLANNING TO ATTEND

We are pulling together a detailed itinerary that we will share with our guests by late May/early join so that guests can begin to think about what they will do while in Barcelona. But we encourage you to do some research on your own and create an itinerary aligned to your interest.

We love to watch travel vlogs on youtube, and search Instagram for some idea and updates on what's hot in the city we are planning to travel to. Check back here for a list of few video to checkout.

We will plan some group activities through out our 3 country adventure, with hopes that everyone will fall in love with each place just as much as we have.

Barcelona is the main focal point of this trip and we plan to do things such as

  • City Tour

  • Family Dinners

  • Private Party Celebrations

  • Sightseeing

  • Beach Days

  • Shopping

  • Entertainment nights

  • and more

Planned activities are optional and some will be covered by the Princes, while other activities will be expected to be covered by guests if they choose to participate.

Barcelona is a very exciting city with lots to do, one can never get too bored!
